Preliminary Task

Planning:
Our planning helped us by meaning that we weren't making up shots on the spot. This meant that we were able to make the most of the time we had available by spending it all on shooting the video. The step outline and shot list meant that we had each exact shot that we needed in the video in order, the risk assessment meant that all risks were thought of before we recorded the video reducing risk or injury. And the production schedule meant that the dates we recorded on were organised and the props, equipment and locations were all listed.

Individual Contribution:
Personally during the planning process I completed the step outline and the production schedule. This helped massively when it came to filming as it mean that all shots were already planned and organised before we went to shoot. I also acted in the video, along with acting i also gave my ideas and suggestions whilst on set to better the end product. And overall I believe that my suggestions had a positive impact on the end product.

Technical Elements:
We used a variety of technical elements whilst filming our video, a variety of shots were used along with editing software to create a smooth flowing final video. A tripod was used in filming to reduce the risk of movement during the shot. Lighting was used to create a variety of effects in shots and to give a clearer image.

Evaluation:

Overall I believe the strengths of my final production was the editing. The editing fitted the song well and meant that shots were on beat to the music. Editing techniques such as slow motion effect and Black and white filter were used to make it conventional for the genre. If I was to remake my final production in my preliminary task I would do a lot more planning. Our current planning was satisfactory and meant that we were organised for the shoot. I just believe that if I had planned further I would have a more extensive range of shots meaning that the video would've been stronger through camerawork and not just editing. Another element that I think went really well in the final production was mise-en-scene, i believe that all characters were wearing conventional outfits and that props were used effectively to represent anarchy and individuality to each character. We didn't plan to use any diegetic sound in our final production. The main reason for this being that we thought that it wasn't very conventional for our genre although I believe that, if done correctly, diegetic sound could've had a positive impact on our production and would've also added to the story that the video portrayed.
